Article 6
Terms, conditions and restrictions concerning the provision of aids
2. Restriction on the amount of grant and leasing subsidy provided.
(a) Grants and leasing subsidy provided may not exceed the limit
of fifteen million (15,000,000) drach-mas, for each new permanent
and full-time job cre-ated by the investment and/or equipment leasing
pro-gram, within the first five years from the completion and the
certification of commencement of its produc-tive operation.
Especially in the case of investments and/or equip-ment leasing
programs of tourist undertakings under instance (t), of para. 1,
article 3, seasonal full-time jobs, of a duration of at least three
months, shall also be considered as new permanent and full-time
jobs. In the case of other undertakings, in order to calculate the
amount of the aid, the number of new seasonal or part-time jobs
shall be reduced to permanent full-time jobs.
For the calculation of the amount of the aid, the number of new
permanent jobs, created by the in-vestment and/or equipment leasing
program, shall be the one determined by the competent department
and the Advisory Committee, within the framework of evaluating the
investment viability and/or the leasing program, and shall be included
in the decision on eli-gibility.
In the event that during the certification of com-mencement of the
productive operation, it shall be as-certained that more full-time
jobs are created than the ones specified in the decision on eligibility,
an addi-tional grant and/or leasing subsidy shall be provided by
virtue of the issued decision certifying the com-mencement of the
productive operation, correspond-ing to those additional jobs, and
to the extent neces-sary in order to cover the grant and/or subsidy
amount deriving from the aid rate provided per case. Any jobs, additional
to those specified in the decision on eligibil-ity, created after
the certification of the commence-ment of the productive operation,
may not be com-puted for the provision of an additional aid.
In the submitted technical and financial study that should accompany
the application seeking eligibility, investors shall be obliged
to submit a documented analysis, and data relevant to the new jobs
created on all levels of the undertaking.
New jobs should be created as follows:
On the date of inspection for the certification of the commencement
of the productive operation of the in-vestment and/or equipment
leasing program, a num-ber of salaried employees, equal to at least
50% of the number of jobs specified in the decision on eligibility,
shall have to have been hired, while by the end of the first year
of certified operation, 75% of these new jobs shall have to have
been filled. Subsequently, in the period between the second and
fifth year, the annual average number of employees in these new
jobs should at least be equal to the number of created jobs specified
in the decision on eligibility.
Jobs created by other investment(s) and/or equip-ment leasing program(s),
shall not be taken into ac-count for the calculation of new jobs
created by the specific investment, specified in the decision on
eligi-bility.
(b) Subject to the provisions of instance (c) below, the fifteen
million (15,000,000) drachma restriction for each new job shall
not apply to:
I. Investments and/or equipment leasing programs for the complete
modernisation of hotel or camping facilities.
II. Investments and/or equipment leasing programs exclusively for
the protection of the environment, the restriction of water, ground
and air pollution, the resto-ration of the natural environment and
water recycling.
III. Investments and/or equipment leasing programs for the utilisation
of renewable energy sources, elec-tricity and heat co-production,
substitution of gas fuels for liquid fuels or electricity, treated
refuse from do-mestic industries, renewable sources of energy, re-covery
of lost heat, energy saving.
IV. Investments for public car parks.
V. Investments of liquid fuels and liquid gases un-dertakings, for
storage facilities or equipment for transportation and handling
of liquid fuels and liquid gases on islands.
